Description
Summary:The utilization of augmented reality as a multimedia platform in language learning, especially Arabic language has become a very positive trend in this digital era. The potentials and advantages of this platform has created an enormous impact mainly on students’ vocabulary learning. However, there is scarcity of studies on the overall readiness aspect in terms of skills, knowledge and attitudes among teachers towards utilizing multimedia platforms in teaching and learning activities. Therefore, this quantitative study aims at identifying the readiness of 285 KAFA Arabic teachers towards the utilization of augmented reality in teaching Arabic vocabulary. The results show that the readiness aspect of attitude is the highest among KAFA Arabic teachers, while knowledge and skills towards utilizing augmented reality in teaching Arabic vocabulary are still at the moderate level. Therefore, this study suggests that those KAFA Arabic teachers need a proper training of exposing and utilizing augmented reality platforms to be used in their current teaching and learning process. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
