Description
Summary:This research investigates the charging and discharging behaviour of the Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery model AMP20M1HD across a diverse range of Constant Current (C-rate) levels and temperatures spanning -30 degrees C to 50 degrees C. Various C-rates are investigated to observe the impact of charging and discharging processes. Preliminary investigation highlights the overcharging and over discharging adversely impacts the C rate. The state-of-charge estimation model, implemented with MATLAB/Simulink, integrates Li-ion Battery, voltage, and temperature sensors, providing a comprehensive understanding of Li-ion battery behaviour. Trends in the data shows that lower temperatures are linked to overcharging in low C-rate charging scenarios, while higher temperatures lead to overcharging in high C-rate charging scenarios. Similarly, low temperatures contribute to over-discharging in low C-rate discharging scenarios, with the minimum error observed at 20 degrees C. In contrast, in high C-rate discharging scenarios, high temperatures increase over-discharging, with least error noted at 0 degrees C. The analysis further exposes subtle temperature influences, highlighting the complex interaction between temperature and C-rate. This highlights how important it is to manage the parameters for the best battery performance precisely; it also suggests crucial balance and temperature ranges that are appropriate for various C-rate scenarios.
