Summary:In this work, state of polarization (SOP) of 1565 nm signal light is modulated by Chromium Carbide (Cr3C2) coated Side Polished Fiber (SPF). The rotation of SOP is attributed to thermo-optic characteristics of Cr3C2. A total of azimuth rotation 50.61 degrees is achieved and the recorded modulation efficiency is 0.43 degrees/mW, when pump power is increased.
