Description
Summary:The prevalence of Dementia is a global concern and effective nursing care to improve the lives of the elderly. A cross-sectional study was conducted among nurses in a government hospital. Most respondents had sufficient knowledge of dementia and positive attitudes and perceived a high standard of person -centred dementia care. There was a relationship between dementia knowledge and attitudes, as well as the attitudes and perceived person-centeredness. Training programs for acute care staff should prioritize improving knowledge and attitudes, a goal that hospital administrators can promote through training that develops technical and intellectual skills alongside interpersonal and moral skills in dementia care.
