Summary: | This Paper reviews the most recent advances in synthesizing indole alkaloids using transition metal-catalyzed methods. The essential class of natural substances known as indole alkaloids has several biological effects, including anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and anti-bacterial properties. Although there are numerous known natural sources of indole alkaloids, due to their scarcity and complexity, total synthesis has emerged as a promising technique of manufacture. Transition metal-catalyzed methods have become efficient tools for synthesizing indole alkaloids due to their high selectivity and efficiency. The various metal-catalyzed reactions that are used to synthesize indole alkaloids are discussed in this paper, including cross-coupling, cycloaddition, and oxidative cyclization reactions in last five years. |
