الوصف
الملخص:It is to investigate the concept of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) based mapping and exposes the current system developments and spatial information industry needs. By exploring the historical concepts and current developments in UAV technology and investigating the use of the technology in various mapping and non-mapping applications and it is found that a lot of advantages and potential technology for the surveying and spatial industry. Information and data has been compiled from research and development projects, presentations, brochures, multimedia documents and field training to accommodate this study. The spatial information industry needs and requirements of UAV mapping by reflecting on completed projects using UAV technology that indicate the benefits of such an approach. The role of the surveyor and spatial scientist is challenged to alter traditional practices with new and inventive technology and methods such as Geographical Information System (GIS) with UAV technology. Typically, it was found that the aviation industry has embraced UAV technology more than the spatial industry in a commercial sense. The actual case is UAV may use digital camera to capture the aerial photographs for productively producing a digital map. © 2013 IEEE.
