Description
Summary:The introduction of deregulation in transmission system has give the opportunity for the end user to choose the supplier which lead to the importance of active load and loss allocation in transmission line. Due to the nonlinear character of power flow, it is crucial to allocate the losses and active load. Thus, this paper will propose a technique to allocate both active load and losses in transmission line via Cuckoo Search (CS) Optimization Technique. Cuckoo Search is a very simple technique that did not entail complex mathematical procedure but gives a better performance in terms of accuracy and computational time. The active load and transmission loss will be treated as an optimization problem. In this paper, IEEE-30 bus system is used as test system and a comparative study is conducted with Genetic Algorithm technique. In addition, the proposed method is also tested in line outage condition. © 2013 IEEE.
