A study on stand structure, biomass estimation and population dynamics of Rhizophoraceae was carried out in the 50-ha plot at Pasoh Forest Reserve, Negeri Sembilan. Data were obtained from Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM), Kepong which consist of the census data of 5-year interval from 1985 to 2005. This study was mainly focused on the census data of 2005. However, comparison between all five census years was made to determine the variation between the data. The data were analysed to examine the distribution of Rhizophoraceae based on topography and soil types, basal area, estimate of total biomass, rate of mortality and also rate of new recruitments. One-way ANOVA test was carried out to see the variation between the census data of 2005 with previous years. Based on the 2005 data, a total of 464 stems of Rhizophoraceae was recorded at Pasoh Forest Reserve, representing two genera and two species. Distribution pattern analysis using Morisita’s Index of Dispersion showed a random distribution for this family with the value Id = 1.87. Total basal area was 0.11 m2/ha. Carallia brachiata contributed 0.07 m2/ha, whilst Gynotroches axillaris contributed 0.21 m2/ha. The rate of growth was 0.02 cm/year. Estimate of total biomass for the year 2005 was 1.45 t/ha. In addition, C. brachiata contributed 0.95 t/ha, whilst G. axillaris contributed 0.50 t/ha. A total 549 stands died and 412 new recruitments were recorded for the past 20 years. © 2023 Malaysian Nature Society. All rights reserved.
