Summary: | This paper proposes a flexible one-sided coil NFC (Near Field Communication) tag integrated with a temperature sensor, enabling real-time and battery-less temperature monitoring. The flexible tag antenna and temperature sensing circuit are made of graphene-based conductive materials and PET substrate, ensuring the necessary flexibility to conform to different structures of items. The incorporation of a temperature sensor (NTC thermistor) with the NFC tag allows for continuous monitoring of the temperature, enabling early detection of any deviations from the desired temperature. Experimental results show that the tag performs well in monitoring temperatures across a wide range from 3°C to 60°C, covering cold, room, and hot temperature, indicating its suitability for various temperature monitoring applications. The temperature sensing application has been verified in food temperature monitoring, where the tag can be detected in the range of 1 to 2 cm while attached to various food structures and storage temperatures, proving the flexibility and reliability of the NFC tag. © 2024 IEEE.
