As the basic clothing category, trench coat products are designed to meet consumers' emotional demands. This study is based on the theoretical knowledge of Kansei Engineering, taking trench coat as a case study, adding cluster analysis and factor analysis to simplify the variables with objective data and improve the rigour of Kansei Engineering. The research results can guide designers to interpret the perceived demands of consumers and accurately transform them into specific design elements of trench coat styles. This can improve the market competitiveness of trench coat products and has practical significance for accurate positioning. © TBIS 2024.
