This research aims to deeply explore the motives, methods, cheating implications, and strategies to cultivate a culture of honesty and academic integrity in the online educational environment. The study employs a qualitative method with a case study design. The research findings indicate that cheating behaviors include activities such as plagiarism, copy-pasting from online sources, engaging in unauthorized collaboration, cheating during online exams, buying, or sharing answers, using cheating tools, and accessing unauthorized resources. These behaviors are motivated by various factors. Several strategies are formulated to avoid the negative implications resulting from cheating behavior. This research provides valuable insights that can serve as a guide to understanding student cheating behavior and how to prevent it. © 2024 IEEE.
