Key methodologies include the Tan Delta (TD) Test, Partial Discharge (PD) measurement, Resistance-to-Ground (RTG), Capacitance-to-Ground (CTG), Phase-to-Phase Inductance measurement, and the Polarization Index (PI). The TD Test evaluates the insulation quality by measuring the dissipation factor, indicating the extent of insulation deterioration. PD measurement detects electrical discharges that signify insulation defects. RTG testing determines the effectiveness of the insulation system in preventing leakage currents. CTG testing identifies contamination buildup on the windings. Phase-to-Phase Inductance measurement assesses the inductive properties and identifies potential winding deformations. The Polarization Index provides insights into the insulation's dryness and cleanliness. The results indicate that the generator is in generally acceptable condition, with recommendations for periodic monitoring to ensure sustained reliability and performance. This paper underscores the importance of regular and thorough electrical testing in maintaining the operational integrity of high-voltage generators. © 2024 IEEE.
