Summary: | In many countries, digital literacy is becoming essential as technology use is growing. Many Web 2.0 tools are used by students to support their learning. Diverse researchers believe that technology can either be disruptive or helpful. There is a dearth of study on the effect of general technology use on learner engagement, with most studies concentrating on particular technical tools. A survey was completed online by 447 students to identify the impact of technology use on students' engagement. Correlations and regression analysis were used to clarify the links among the variables. Findings indicated that technology use had positive effect on students' engagement, it appears that online searching, social media use, and media sharing contribute to students' engagement. Future directions for research and their ramifications are also highlighted. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
