This chapter explores the intersection of Islamic principles with corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the green economy. It emphasises the alignment of Islamic finance with sustainable development and its congruence with CSR objectives, to elucidate the role of Islamic finance, particularly the Maqasid al-Shari’ah, in supporting the CSR and green financing that focus on social welfare and environmental preservation. The study aims to demonstrate how Islamic finance can contribute to a sustainable and responsible economic model. The study reviews existing literature on the green economy, Islamic finance, and CSR. The findings reveal how CSR in the Islamic green economy extends beyond traditional business practices, integrating comprehensive environmental and social welfare components. It also presents empirical studies to illustrate the relationship between these concepts within the framework of the Islamic green economy. It discusses Islamic social finance instruments, such as Zakat, in promoting sustainable development goals and enhancing CSR activities. It underscores the potential of Islamic finance to contribute significantly to global environmental and social governance. In conclusion, practical recommendations for integrating Islamic principles into CSR and green economy practices are vital by enhancing CSR disclosure, aligning corporate strategies with the Maqasid al-Shari’ah, and adopting more environmentally friendly practices following Islamic teachings in the context of Islamic green economy. © 2025 selection and editorial matter, Mohd Ma’Sum Billah, Rusni Hassan, Razali Haron, Romzie Rosman and Akhtarun Naba’ Billah.
