Summary: | As a result of the ongoing development of technology, the implementation of cutting-edge instructional technologies in educational settings is gaining prominence. In recent years, 360-degree video has emerged as a promising technology for enhancing online learning in hospitality and tourism education. This qualitative paper presents the possible costs and benefits of implementing 360-degree video in hospitality and tourist education. The thematic analysis results have identified several potential benefits, including improved engagement and understanding of the subject matter. In contrast, the study identified several obstacles that could arise while deploying 360-degree video. These obstacles include the technical difficulties associated with producing high-quality content and the requirement for educators to narrate the content of the 360-degree video. The study shows that 360-degree video has the potential to be an effective online educational tool in the hotel and tourism industry despite the problems that it presents. One of the recommendations for future research is to investigate the most successful ways to include 360-degree video in the curriculum and investigate the efficacy of 360-degree video in various situations and cultures. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
