Summary: | This paper presents a non-invasive sweat-sensing antenna-based sensor operating at frequency of 2.4 GHz. The antenna-based sensor is designed with coplanar waveguide (CPW) that incorporates a reflector at the bottom layer. It has a compact size of 30 mm x 30 mm and utilizes filter paper as its substrate. The design and performance of the CPW antenna-based sensor for detecting artificial sweat solution are investigated. Results indicate the CPW antenna-based sensor achieves high sensitivity towards sweat-sensing. This is obtained through significant percentage of shift in resonant frequency with the increased in sweat volume. The maximum simulated frequency shift is 1.79 GHz at -10dB return loss that is achieved when the CPW antenna-based sensor is fully immersed in sweat. © 2024 IEEE. |
