The expanding influence of false news (FN) reshapes behavioral norms and alters people's positions and opinions on critically important issues. Objective: To introduce and validate a new conceptual framework that intersects literature on social media (SM), false news (FN), and societal acceptance theory to investigate the extent and manner in which FN influences society. Methodology: We Developed a conceptual framework, turned into a meta-framework. The study Conducted a survey with 50 respondents to collect data and compared fuzzy sets to analyze societal discrimination between true-negative (TN) and false-negative (FN) processes. Results: The study found that Societies generally distinguish between TN and FN processes, with some exceptions. Findings indicate a corresponding cleavage of societal values, suggesting a divergence in societal norms due to FN. he study presents a new perspective on how SM is disrupting social lives, with FNs overshadowing TNs. Conclusion: This research provides insights into the impact of FN on social media users' attitudes and societal values, highlighting the importance of news media literacy training programmes in mitigating the influence of misinformation. © 2024, Artseduca.
