This level of happiness affects the performance and achievement of academics in particular. This study aims to analyze the highlights of the literature related to the indicators of academics. This descriptive study employed a systematic qualitative work highlight method whereby the literature highlights were obtained from online databases Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) and analyzed based on Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). The results of the SLR analysis found that there are 13 articles that display the discussion of academics’ happiness indicators. The results also found three main indicators of happiness, which are organizational, individual, and social. These three factors are thoroughly discussed in various social contexts. This study has implications on the happiness of academicians, therefore improving their quality of life. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
