Development and Evaluation of Polyherbal Phyto-phospholipid Complexes (Phytosomes) for PCOD Treatment

Polycystic ovary disorder (PCOD) is a common endocrine condition affecting women of reproductive age that is distinguished by hyperandrogenism, ovulatory failure, and polycystic ovaries. It is still not entirely apparent what causes polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and the treatments that are curre...

Polycystic ovary disorder (PCOD) is a common endocrine condition affecting women of reproductive age that is distinguished by hyperandrogenism, ovulatory failure, and polycystic ovaries. It is still not entirely apparent what causes polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and the treatments that are currently available tend to focus more on alleviating symptoms than on addressing the underlying causes. The bioavailability and effectiveness of bioactive chemicals can be improved by the use of phytosomes, which are sophisticated delivery methods. Phytosomes for the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) are the primary focus of this study. Materials such as milk thistle (Silybum marianum), curcumin (Curcuma longa), and Ginkgo biloba were utilized with the purpose of highlighting the potential benefits of these substances in the treatment of PCOD. A fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) analysis was carried out, and the results of the ex-vivo analysis confirmed that the formulation PS3 with a ratio of 2:1 exhibited a greater release profile. © 2024, Dr. Yashwant Research Labs Pvt.
