Description
Summary:The usage of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in nearly every element of life is growing in the current digital era. The impact of ICT on a wide range of sectors and socioeconomic development in both developed and developing countries has risen significantly. Over the last decade, Universiti Teknologi MARA Cawangan Terengganu (UiTMCT) Malaysia, in particular the Department of Research and Industrial Linkages, has actively organised a number of programs, including conferences, innovation competitions, workshops, seminars, and talks as a platform for the lecturers to share knowledge, achieve the Key Performance Index (KPI) in research, publication, innovation, and entrepreneurship, as well as develop networking between academicians and industry. Even though each activity must be completed manually and physically, the Department of Research and Industrial Linkages has made every effort to meet the program's goals. These include overseeing the registration, review, and notification procedures for participants as well as the payment procedure. These are all challenging tasks. Some of the issues the organiser encountered while running the program included missing information and misunderstood communication between team members. Therefore, a One-Stop Centre Program Management System namely SMART e-RUNNER Portal has been developed by utilising the design science research methodology to address the stated issue. It is divided into three main parts: the pre-program, the program, and the post-program. The SMART e-RUNNER Portal has been put to the test with the target audience to evaluate its effectiveness, and the results show that using the system has a good impact on saving cost, time, and human resources. © 2024 American Institute of Physics Inc..
