The results indicated that the main motive for obtaining the halal certification are customer needs and improve company image. Other motives are improved quality of products and improved production process. While the main external factors influencing the respondents to obtain JAKIM halal certification was “to fulfil customer demands”. Other external factors followed by “to increase market share”, “to increase customer confidence” and “can prevent food poisoning”. The least important external factor was “to reduced customer complaints”. © 2024 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved.
