Simulation of energy saving potential in the university building using AC scheduling techniques

By the year 2030, the energy consumption is expected to increase to 50 % and university building consume 40% of total energy consumption comes from HVAC system. Thus, energy consumption in university building can be minimized if energy saving technique is applied. In this paper, the aim of this stud...

Thus, energy consumption in university building can be minimized if energy saving technique is applied. In this paper, the aim of this study is to estimate the potential energy saving through the AC scheduling technique. Energy saving were explored by IES VE software for library in Permatang Pauh campus. The results indicate that the Ac schedule technique have the most significant impact on the potential energy saving. The rescheduling of AC operation is divided into for methods. The simulation results show that the annual energy consumption is 31040.22MWh and potential energy saving is about 34% without sacrificing the thermal comfort of the occupants. The Method (D) is best technique to achieve energy saving in library building. © 2024 AIP Publishing LLC.
