Description
Summary:Wastewater pollution of soil and water is one of the most severe global dangers to our environment today. Palm oil mill effluent final discharge (POME FD), a by-product of the palm oil extraction process, is wastewater. Palm oil mill effluent (POME) is high-strength wastewater resulting from palm fruit processing. It is produced in considerable numbers in all oil palm producing countries. It is a significant pollutant responsive to microbial breakdown due to its high organic carbon, nitrogen, and mineral content. Due to its highly polluting properties, palm oil mill effluent (POME) requires effective treatment before discharge into watercourses. This paper proposes an electrocoagulation (EC) technique to minimize organic pollution in palm oil mill effluent (POME). The pH, COD and temperature values were analyzed after being treated by the electrocoagulation method. There are two sensors, temperature, and pH sensors, connected to Arduino UNO. The sensors help monitor the temperature value and pH value of the samples. The data collected by Arduino is then transferred to the serial monitor display. All the results can be monitored live on PC to analyze the treatment. © 2024 AIP Publishing LLC.
