This chapter delves into the intricate interplay between competition law and sustainable development goals (SDGs), uncovering their interplay by unravelling how competition law's principles of fair play, economic efficiency, consumer protection, and prevention of market power abuse align seamlessly with multiple SDGs in Malaysia. It investigates the similarities between the objectives of competition law in Malaysia and the UN SDGs. It dissects how competition law fosters economic growth, innovation, and access to essential goods and services, aligning with SDGs that seek to eradicate poverty, enhance industry, promote inclusive societies, and ensure responsible consumption. The chapter will show the symbiotic relationship between competition law and SDGs, where principles of fair competition align harmoniously with broader development goals. Thus, the enforcement of competition law just like the pursuit of the SDGs should be seen as a dynamic force for societal progress, economic equity, and global betterment. © 2024, IGI Global.
