Description
Summary:The integration of Building Information Modelling (BIM) into sustainable design has become a popular trend in the construction industry. However, the application of BIM in green highway construction poses several challenges. This paper examines the challenges of integrating BIM into sustainable design for green highway construction. The research employs a qualitative approach of interviews with professionals in the construction industry, and the results are analyzed using content analysis. The study reveals that integrating BIM into a sustainable design for green highway construction challenges include high cost, insufficient data, limited collaboration among stakeholders, the need for specialized skills, and inadequate software. The study recommends adopting a collaborative approach to overcome these challenges. The paper concludes by emphasizing the importance of addressing these challenges to achieve sustainable construction practices in the highway sector. Copyright © 2023, AIDIC Servizi S.r.l.
