Due to their unique benefits, including ease of processing, environmental friendliness, and superior cost-effectiveness ratio without sacrificing their biodegradability and biocompatibility, natural nanofillers have shown promising performance in the world of biopolymer-based composites. A complete set of classes of natural nanofillers typically emerge with a wide range of polymers as one of the most remarkable materials for a wide variety of high-tech various applications from packaging, cosmetics, medicine, optics, automotive, and building and constructions. Additionally, applications of nanofillers had successfully enhanced the properties of biopolymer, widened their applications, and performed to achieve more applications breakthroughs. These achievements have led to thorough understanding and further research of significant role of using natural nanofillers in biopolymer-based composites. However, key changes related to modern technology involving natural nanofillers in biopolymer-based composites have rarely been discussed. Hence, the purpose of this study is to provide a detailed overview of the advancements made with natural nanofillers in biopolymer-based composites.
