Description
Summary:In this paper, the effect of surface morphology of TiO2-PANI fabricated electrode for pH sensing application using the electrospray method was discussed. ITO glass was used as the substrate for the electrodes. The surface morphology was influenced by the effect of the deposition distance between needle-Tip-To-collector at 8, 10, 12 and 14cm. Besides the surface morphology, the pH sensing performance was also investigated. The result from the FESEM images shows that the surface morphological nanocomposite of TiO2-PANI appeared to be nanoflakes structure. The wettability test results show that TiO2-PANI nanocomposite electrodes present high peeling resistance with a contact angle of 102 degrees almost twice from TiO2 nanostructure, which exhibits satisfying hydrophobicity. The polyaniline hydrophobic features contributed to improved electrode insolubility and durability. The experiment constructed an EGFET circuit by connecting the nanocomposite sensing electrode to a commercial MOSFET (CD4007UB) as an evaluation of sensitivity and linearity. TiO2-PANI exhibited the highest sensitivity with 53.75mV/pH and linearity 0.9826 at 8cm deposition distance. Consequently, TiO2-PANI satisfies the criteria for insoluble pH detection, owing to its higher sensitivity. © 2023 IEEE.
