This study explicitly explores the attributes of BCM practices and adoption trends among SMEs, proposing an integrated framework by including organisational resilience (planned and adaptive resilience) and organisational performance within the BCM practices. This study analysed published research works from 2010 until 2022, guided by the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) methodology. This study found management support, external requirements, organisational preparedness, and embeddedness of continuity practices are the main attributes of BCM practices. Besides, this study confirms that SMEs previously overlooked the importance of BCM within their organisations. However, findings show that SMEs are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of BCM in protecting their businesses from potential disasters and disruptions. Lastly, the proposed conceptualisation framework of the SMEs’ BCM practices and the organisational resilience (planned and adaptive resilience) and organisational performance allows for novel understanding and readiness assessment among SME managers to face future crises and uncertainties. © 2023
