The proliferation of Industrial Revolution (IR4.0) is inevitably revolutionizing the entire construction industry. It is not an option that the skills and competencies in myriad digital technologies need to be embedded in the construction management curriculum. The sheer lack of skills and trained labour in transition to digital construction is due to the inadequacy of hands-on activities of using multiple digital tools. This paper presents the experiential learning of using digital tools in construction management education. The objective of this paper is to explore the extent to which Experiential Learning Theory (ELT) influence the students' perception toward digital tools. A hands-on workshop activity approach was designed and organised by the student association in the construction management programme offered at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) to address the issue of lack of proficiency in using the digital tools such as Autodesk Revit (BIM system), Microsoft Excel (Quantity Take-Off). The approach first begins with an understanding of the digital tools for construction-related application. Then follow-up by step-by-step of exploring the ribbons of computer interface, short-cuts and associated tabs. The proposed approach is conducted in the faculty computer labs evaluated by using the experiential learning for both digital tools (i.e., Revit and Excel) in either creating a three-dimensional (3D) BIM Model or the ability to take off the material quantities. The evaluation results indicated that the approach helps to enhance students learning the digital tools and apply those activities in their formal course module. © 2023 Author(s).
