As such, it is unrealistic to address the issues pertaining to medicine use in older adults solely from a biomedical perspective. Since medicine use is a social phenomenon, a sociological approach in understanding issues related to medicine use in older adults should be incorporated within the domains of pharmacy practice and clinical pharmacy. © 2019 Elsevier Inc.
