This paper focuses on the developing a control device that uses a hand gesture to control the movement of computer games like a racing car. In this project, the flex sensors are used as an input, then these sensors will be attached into a glove. The use of Arduino Leonardo as an interface between the sensor and microcontroller. The reading from the flex sensors were set as a command for each movement and it will be translated to the computer games by hand gesture's algorithm. Based on the result, the flex sensor's glove able to control a basic racing game in the PC smoothly as well as the traditional methods such as joystick and keyboard. This project was successfully developed the hand gestures based on the flex sensors for the three fingers: - middle, thumb, and index. It also able to control the movement of the three movement of racing car (forward, left, and right). The innovation of this project not only support on the games console for entertainment, but for education, industrial sectors, and sport activities. © 2022 IET Conference Proceedings.
