Description
Summary:Compression systems are used in various treatments, such as venous disorders, lymphatic diseases, and muscle injuries. This chapter focuses on the mechanical properties that may affect the performance of the compression system. The mechanical properties discussed are elasticity, multi-axial stress relaxation behavior, and layering effect on elasticity. Both wear trial and experimental designs were taken into account to analyze the importance of compression in healing. An interesting issue associated with the performance of compression textiles, which relates to changes in fabric behavior over time, is also discussed. The mechanical properties discussed in this chapter are not only relevant in real life but also important for the manufacturers in creating better products with improved performance. © 2024 selection and editorial matter, Nimesh Kankariya and René M.
