In the future, traditional beekeeping requires a precise approach to implementing smart apiary monitoring systems for remotely and optimized bee colony management. This project presents the stingless beehive data collection system remotely using firebase as a real-time database and googles cloud functions at the backend. The firebase hosting with android apps connects all registered clients with the database. The database system was designed to allow the user to insert data in two modes: manual data insertion or the Internet of Things (IoT). The primary data such as hive name, colony species, hive location, and harvesting record were manually inserted into the database. In IoT modes, the monitoring hardware continuously pushes more parameters into the database. The parameters consist of temperature, humidity, and honey weight. In addition, the IoT mode provides alert notification services that send critical alerts through the firebase features function. Overall, the designed system acts as a baseline for integrating a mobile application with firebase, which can be extended to include an administration website for the beekeepers in the future. © 2023 Author(s).
