Summary: | This paper discusses on the longevity factor and trend of government pensioners in Malaysia. Life expectancy has increased significantly over last few decades, and aging population gives burden to the government pension system. Besides, the need to determine independent variables that effect of longevity factor can be helpful to estimate the pensioners longevity. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to analyses on the trend of longevity factor and determines significant variables that contribute to calculating longevity factor. The objective is to find the longevity trend from government pensioners aged 55 to 60 and determine the significance of independent variable in calculating longevity factor. We are using the annuity theory to determine the longevity factor and analysis of regression model by using SPSS to determine the significance of independent variables. It is found that that the longevity factor will keep on showing a decreasing trend for all Family Models, for both survived pensioners and died pensioners. For survived pensioners, all independent variables are significant while for died pensioners, age of the pensioners and year of retirement are the only factors that significant. Even though there are two insignificant independent variables, the model still is significant as shown using F - test. © 2022 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved.
