There are at least 63 species of bamboo in Peninsular Malaysia, which 25 of them are indigenous. The remaining exists only by cultivation. Among the already known 63 species, 13 of them have been identified to be utilized commercially. The chapter reviewed the basic properties of these 13 commercially available Malaysian bamboos. Bamboo-related findings in Malaysia were also reviewed in this chapter based on the available database. In addition to that, four bamboo species mostly used by the local industries were tested and the physical and mechanical properties were reported.
