Malaysia's capital, Kuala Lumpur, has long served as the nation's commercial centre. It is in the centre of the nation's extensive network of transportation networks, and its population, transportation infrastructure, and activity dynamism are all expanding massively. Supply chain in a big city poses ample opportunities to capture and utilize associated smart data that can be used to enhance and improve efficiency, transparency and sustainability. Better monitoring and assurance of compliance with various standards and sustainability of the supply chain, including halal requirements can be done with introduction of new technologies that use smart data, such as the blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and others. This paper explores the possibilities of smart data for a sustainable halal supply chain in Kuala Lumpur. © 2023 IEEE.
