الملخص:Iron-based nanoparticles (INPs) are among the most intriguing novel materials due to their high magnetic properties and catalytic activities. Recent research has shifted to the development of novel clean and sustainable synthesis protocols using plant extract. This review summarizes recent advance in the synthesis of INPs using different plant sources as the reducing or capping/stabilizing agents. The associated green synthesis protocols and its limitation, characterization techniques and recommendations for future work in this area are also discussed. The present mini review may provide insight into plant-based synthesis of novel INPs for environmental remediation application. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
