Chloranthus erectus is an erect shrub, native to Southeast Asia’s tropical and temperate zones. It is a popular folklore medicine used by many indigenous communities. However, no comprehensive assessment and scientific report of C. erectus were published. Hence, this preliminary study was carried out to screen the phytochemical analysis of leaves extract in methanol and aqueous extracts of indigenous medicinally important plants of C. erectus. The phytochemicals analysis reveals the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, saponins, quinones, glycosides, and steroids. The current study shows that C. erectus solvent extract contains therapeutically significant bioactive components, which supports the use of plant species as traditional medicine for the treatment of a variety of disorders.
