Description
Summary:Lecturers must conduct research and publish their findings. The reason is obvious, it is a medium of knowledge dissemination and as part of their Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). However, it is difficult for administrators to analyze the performance and publication output of all academic staff because the information available on the Scopus® website is displayed individually. To overcome this problem, administrators often employ dedicated staff to manually enter this information in Google spreadsheet, so that the information is available on demand. However, the information may not be the latest as the data on the Scopus® website is constantly updated when there are new publications. Therefore, an automatic retrieval system was developed using Python. The system automatically queries data from the Scopus® website using the Scopus® API. Then, the results will be saved to two different locations which are the Google spreadsheet and the MySQL database. The Google spreadsheet stores current publications while the database contains all publications by the academic staff. This mechanism allows administrators to monitor the performance and output of all academic staff of the School of Electrical Engineering through Google spreadsheet and the associated website. © 2022 IEEE.
