Summary: | The dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) has been investigated during the last three decade. Nevertheless, more effort needs to be done for further improvement of the DSSC performances. The modifications of DSSC are being made based on these four components: photoanode, dye, electrolyte and counter electrode. The purpose of these modifications is to produce high efficiency of DSCC with superior long-term chemical stability during conversion of any artificial light or sun light into electrical energy. The addition of agarose biopolymer in KI electrolyte solution has produced a fine continuous channel which allowed the connective ionic clusters to facilitate ionic transport in the electrolyte. Both electrodes were also being modified with TiO2-G as photoanode and followed by polyaniline-graphene oxide at counter electrode respectively. From the result, the band gap energy of TiO2-G (3 wt%) photoanode was decreased to 2.45 eV from 3.2 eV for pristine TiO2.Meanwhile PANI-GO composite has showed a great potential material for the replacement of Pt sheet as counter electrode based on the IV study where the highest value of PCE was recorded at 6.391 % for PANI-GO 3 wt%. © 2022
