Classification and application of composite panel products from oil palm biomass
Biomass from oil palm trees offers a lot of promise as a raw resource for making wood-based goods. The product quality was found to be equivalent to that of tropical wood goods. However, based on the oil palm biomass characteristic as contrasted to conventional wood, the fabrication procedure and pa...

The product quality was found to be equivalent to that of tropical wood goods. However, based on the oil palm biomass characteristic as contrasted to conventional wood, the fabrication procedure and parameters must be modified correspondingly. Because of its inconsistencies in physical and mechanical qualities, the oil palm biomassis usually burned or degrade in the cultivation area. Aside from that, some oil palm biomass is burned in oil palm mills to produce oil palm ash, which may be used in concrete, mortar, and other cementitious materials as a partial replacement for cement. To address these issues, various studies have been conducted to boost the value of this biomass by converting it into useful goods like as biofuels, furniture, pulp and paper, particleboards, polymer composites, food packaging, medium-density fibre (MDF), and plywood. © 2022 Elsevier Inc.
