Description
Summary:Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disorder classified as a serious disease. Diabetes is affected by either the absence of insulin or the failure to use the generated insulin. Patients with diabetes Type 1 and 2 they often need to record their blood glucose levels before and after meal because dietitian needs to monitor during the appointment to maintain the blood glucose level in order to avoid or prevent complications. Dietitians also need to monitor more detailed information about food and beverage that patients take in a whole day using 24-hour Dietary Recall. However, some patients might forget to record down as well as to bring the record book during the appointment resulting a delay and reschedule consultation session with dietitian. My-DDMS is a mobile application proposed as a platform for diabetes patient to monitor their glucose level according to the blood glucose level, food diary, and appointment schedule reminder. This mobile application was develop using Android Studio IDE with installed SDK tools. Agile methodology was adopted throughout the development process as it enabled the system implementation phase to be repeated several times during evaluation phase to meet the user requirements. This application offered an alternative option and convenient way on dietary self-monitoring for diabetic patient. © 2021 IEEE.
