Summary: | This research aims to examine the association between thermal comfort and visitors’ satisfaction in shopping complexes. The survey was conducted in selected shopping complexes located in Penang, Malaysia. This research employed a questionnaire survey, administrated to 176 visitors in the selected buildings. Respondents were asked to indicate their preferences based on a five-point Likert scale of agreement and satisfaction. This research used PLS-SEM: SMART PLS Version 3.2 to analyse the questionnaire’s reliability and validity. Results indicated a significant relationship between thermal comfort and visitors’ satisfaction in shopping complexes, especially concerning air movement in the building. The results also highlighted the importance of thermal comfort conditions for visitors’ satisfaction in hot and humid climate shopping complexes. © 2022, Construction Research Institute of Malaysia.
