Summary:This paper report the design and analysis of an integrated circuit (IC) testing module with GUI using MATLAB and microcontroller interfacing. The proposed module is able to test Open and Short, DC parametric and functional parameters. Hence, the objectives of this project are i) to design the IC testing module using the microcontroller system for hardware and the MATLAB for Graphical User Interface (GUI); ii) to integrate the software and hardware based on the design specification; iii) to test and analyze the proposed module based on the open and short, DC parametric and functional testing parameters. The device targeted in this design is 74 series ICs which the test conducted using the Design Under Test (DUT) board. Moreover, the project involved system design, test specification, hardware and software development, system integration, and prototype testing. The result shows that the proposed IC tester produced the exact result for the open and short, DC parametric and functional test where the input and output test parameters are drives from MATLAB. In conclusion, the IC testing module proposed is able to perform the exact function of the commercial IC tester and is suitable for the teaching and learning process, and comply with the IC testing course taught in the university. ©2021 IEEE
