Summary: | This research presents the design and development of a two degree of freedom (2-DOF) motion platform for vehicle driving simulator application. The purpose of this study is to stimulate the motion simulation in any movement vehicle. The development processes include reviews of driving simulator technology that already variable in market global and the selection of suitable design for this configurations, development of motion platform based on reference and guided from community, the control movement part using PWM and obtaining the PWM waveform signal from the simulation. The motion platform was designed to combine the optimal workspace and mechanical advantage, which is considered important for a low-cost simulator. A visualization tool, SMC3 Utils was used to validate the motion platform motions from the PWM signal, to test the motor function and to monitor the graph obtained. The motion platform prototype was constructed and interfaced with the simulation model through data from visual output vehicle motion in video game. From the study, it is proven that the motion platform can be used for driving simulator application in estimating the motor control for the motion simulation. © 2021 IEEE.
