In addition, lightweight of CPs and non-corrosive nature, have made it one of the versatile polymers in the materials group. These remarkable properties of CPs have made it to be easily integrated with the latest applications on photocatalyst, sensors, and actuators, solar cells, energy devices, and batteries. However, many have not realised the historical background of these versatile CPs. Hence, this chapter is an attempt to address the forgotten history of CPs with respect to certain selected well-known CPs. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
