Motorcycle has always and will always be a popular mode of road transportation throughout the globe. The increase of motorcycle ownerships has been associated with the increase of motorcycle road accidents and fatalities significantly. Via this study, questionnaire surveys, on-road motorcycle riding experiment, indoor motorcycle riding simulations and surface electromyography (sEMG) data collection were deployed as efforts to help overcome this road epidemic. As a result, the ProRIDE Guideline is developed and introduced to provide valuable information for motorcyclists to have a much safer ride on the roads. It mainly focuses on the aspect of Human Factors and Ergonomics of the motorcyclist with respect to prolonged motorcycle riding. Amongst the contents of the ProRIDE Guideline include a dedicated stretching exercise for motorcyclist called ABStretch and also an ergonomic assessment tool named SPRInT. This guideline is mainly dedicated for all motorcyclists especially those riding a motorcycle below than 250 cc. © 2020 Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. All Rights Reserved.
