Synthesis and characterization of titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanopowder

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) powder was synthesized via sol-gel technique using Titanium tetraisopropoxide (TTIP) and ethanol as precursors. Acetylacetone, distilled water, polyethylene glycol (PEG) and stabilizers (glacial acetic acid and nitric acid) were then added to the solution. The solution was le...

Description
Summary:Titanium dioxide (TiO2) powder was synthesized via sol-gel technique using Titanium tetraisopropoxide (TTIP) and ethanol as precursors. Acetylacetone, distilled water, polyethylene glycol (PEG) and stabilizers (glacial acetic acid and nitric acid) were then added to the solution. The solution was left for ageing for 24 hours and then dried into powder. The synthesized powders were characterized by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). © 2018 Author(s).
