This research focus on the transmissivity property of TiO2 thin films characterized by the UV-Vis Spectrophotometer in order to obtain thin films with the best transmittance value for the photocatalytic application. TiO2 solution with molarities ranging from 0.1-0.25 M were prepared by dissolving Titanium Butoxide (TTIB) in ethanol. Then, they were deposited on glass substrates by spin coating technique and were annealed at 450°C. The result shows that 0.25 M of TiO2 thin film shows the best transmissivity among the other thin films with the transmittance value of 80%. 0.1 M, 0.15 M and 0.2 M transmittance values are 65%, 55% and 40% respectively. The optical band gap was found to be 3.63 eV for 0.25 M TiO2 thin films where it is applicable for the photocatalytic application. © 2017 IEEE. Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.
