Description
Summary:TiO2 thin films are one of the most investigated metal oxides due to the wide variety of applications such as photocatalyst. This research focus on the transmissivity property of TiO2 thin films characterized by the UV-Vis Spectrophotometer in order to obtain thin films with the best transmittance value for the photocatalytic application. TiO2 solution with molarities ranging from 0.1-0.25 M were prepared by dissolving Titanium Butoxide (TTIB) in ethanol. Then, they were deposited on glass substrates by spin coating technique and were annealed at 450°C. The result shows that 0.25 M of TiO2 thin film shows the best transmissivity among the other thin films with the transmittance value of 80%. 0.1 M, 0.15 M and 0.2 M transmittance values are 65%, 55% and 40% respectively. The optical band gap was found to be 3.63 eV for 0.25 M TiO2 thin films where it is applicable for the photocatalytic application. © 2017 IEEE.
